Accountant General team wrested the title of the 18th Civil Services Cricket Championship with a four wicket win over Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in the final match played at the Model Higher Secondary School and Oriental College ground today.
Opting to bat first on winning the toss, RD&PR scored 141 runs for seven in the 30 over game which was overhauled by the eventual champions for the loss of six wickets with six overs to spare.
AG's Th Akshaykumar was declared man of the final match for his all round contribution of 62 runs and one RD&PR scalp.
Akshaykumar also bagged the best batsmen and man of the series titles while the best bowler of the championship honour went to K Ananda Singh of the losing finalists.
The final match of the competition organised by Manipur Civil Services Cricket Association and closing ceremony was held with MVCA patron KK Chhetry (IAS) as the chief guest and MCSCA president and Executive Officer of IMC W Bhaktaraj (MCS) as the president.
Besides AG and RD&PR teams from departments like Agriculture, IFC, PHE, Education, Revenue, and Electricity took part in the championship.
