Judokas of Mayai Lambi Sports Academy wrested the team champions' title of the 16th Manipur State Level Judo Championship with a rich haul of 23 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze medals.
The closing ceremony of the three-day championship organised by Manipur Judo Association was held this evening at khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium with Education Minister L Jayentakumar Singh, president of Manipur Olympic Association and Wangoi AC's MLA Salam Joy Singh as the chief guest, president and special invitee respectively.
In all 223 male and female judokas from nine units took part in the championship in various weight and age categories.
With 10 gold, four silver and three bronze SAI-SAG finished runners-up followed by MPSC (7G/4S/4/B) in third position, AMKA (4G/7S/4B) fourth, LLYC (3G/2S/5B) fifth, PSA (2G/1S/3B) sixth and IKJC (1G/4S/6B) in seventh position.
A silver and nine bronze medal ensured UDC finished one
place above SDJAM.
