AR Ching-Tam Run For Unity And Peace

Imphal, December 30 2018:
Kakching Batallion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(South) organized a Ching-T am Run on 29 Dec 2018 to showcase the vision of people of Manipur towards peace and prosperity in the state.
The collaborative initiative of Assam Rifles, people from Sugnu, Kakching, Chakpikarong, Ex-Serviceman Association and Sugnu Football club received an overwhelming support from the locals and marks a new beginning in the Sugnu-Chakpikarong area of Manipur .
The event exhibited the ushering peace and prosperity in parts of Manipur and people' s passion for sports.
The run was conducted on a 13 km route from Chakpikarong Football ground to Sugnu Public ground.
A total of 722 runners participated in this mega event.
The run had two categories- open category (male and female) and below 14 yrs (male and female).
The event was graced by respected elders, veterans of Army and Assam Rifles and political dignitaries of Kakching and Chakpikarong.
The winner of Ching-T am Run of open category male was Kh Ramajit and female was N Chaoba Devi.
The winners were felicitated by dignataries and Commandant of Kakching Batallion.
The undaunting spirit shown by senior citizens and veterans in completing the run was commended by each and every one.
Separate motivational prizes were given to senior citizen and veterans.
The collective efforts of Assam Rifles and people of Manipur made this event a new symbol of unity and friendship between all sections of society .
This endeavor will go a long way in strengthening the bond of brotherhood between Assam Rifles and people of Manipur .
