UNACCO fetes National Games medal winners

Along with inaugurating UNACCO School, Excellence in Education, a reception ceremony in honour of the Manipuri players who won medals in the 34th National Games held at Jharkhand recently was hosted jointly by UNACCO Social Development Trust and UNACCO Foundation Trust at Khuman Zone-III (West), Imphal East district today.
Presided over by chairman of the governing body of UNACCO School, Excellence in Education N Irabanta Singh, the function was attended by State Assembly Speaker I Hemochandra Singh as chief guest and Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board Bijoy Koijam and MLA Radhabinod Koijam as guests of honour.
After inauguration of the school formally, the dignitaries who graced the dais also inspected demonstration of taking classes in the school.

Later, speaking at the function, Hemochandra expressed hope that UNACCO school would be able to make great contribution in the social sector and called upon the teachers and management of the school to give proper direction and guidance to the students and make them good citizens.
Radhabinod Koijam pointed out that money in terms of crores of rupees are being drained out from Manipur with many students going to other States for education.
This is due to failure of making education a free zone in Manipur.
Bijoy Koijam observed that development of a society requires development of its human resources.
He expressed optimism that the UNACCO School would be living up to the expectation of the people and produce many good students in the days to come.
At the occasion, Manipuri sportspersons who won medals in the recently conducted 34th National Games, 2011 at Jharkhand were honoured with gifts.
