Imphal, March 12 2011:
Reacting to the UKLF's clarification as published on March 5 issue which termed Civil Rights Alert (CRA) Chandel as a non-entity, the CRA alleged that the UKLF's clarification was a blunt rejection of its own folly.
A press release issued by CRA Chandel information and publicity secretary Jathang Haokip asserted that the CRA was formed in 2010 following frequent human rights violation perpetrated by anti-social elements in the guise of revolutionaries.
The formation of the CRA was also flashed in the media.
Saying that the main objective was to ensure justice, Jathang iterated that it would never raise blank accusation on any group or individual unless it has sufficient evidence.
Reiterating that not a single District Council teacher belonging to a Kuki community of Chandel district has been spared from the 20 per cent deduction from their salaries, the CRA asked if asking one to do one's duty sincerely and honestly while robbing them at the same time can be justifiable.
Urging the Government to conduct an enquiry into the matter, CRA claimed that it is ready to provide all the required proof.
