'Centre allows hiking honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers agreed'

Central government has given assurance to hike the honorariums paid to the anganwadi workers and helpers per month from the existing rates of Rs 1500 to Rs 3000 and from Rs 750 to Rs 1500 respectively, said N Binodini, general secretary of the Anganwadi Workers' and Helpers' Union, Manipur today.
Binodini said this at a reception function of the state team who took part in the protest of the anganwadi workers and helpers across the country at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on February 24 last.
The protest demanded hiking of the honorariums of the anganwadi workers and helpers, she said.
The function was held at GM Hall.
Union government was given the assurance after a talk between the representatives of the protestors and authority concerned, she said claiming that the demonstration a grant success for the anganwadi workers and helpers.
Minister for agriculture, labour and CADA, Ph Parijat who graced the function as chief guest encouraged the undeterred spirit of the anganwadi workers and helpers and said "life is struggle and we must struggle all the time." "Those who do not struggle in life do not get happiness in life" .
Anganwadi workers and helpers should not only know their duties but also responsibilities, he said urging them to discharge their duties sincerely for the betterment of the society.
Former minister Dr M Nara, who presided over the function, expressing his happiness when the team came back with success, said that anganwadi workers and helpers should take active role in such movement demanding their rightful demand.
Asserting that some demands they have been demanding from the government are yet to be fulfilled, Nara urged the anganwadi workers and helpers to go ahead with their spirit for the rights.
