Shaheed Manoranjan Memorial Football : WAFA romp to 4-0 win as LYCC edge out RAU 4-3

WAFA, Wangoi sent GDC packing with a 4-0 thrashing as LYCC,LiwaChangning edged out RAU, Lairikyengbam Leikai by 4-3 goals in today's matches of the ongoing 11th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial CRPF Football Tournament.
In the first match of the day, WAFA rode on E Joykison double and singles from Seiminthang and Th Rohit to cruise to 4-0 win for the next round berth.
WAFA dominated the proceeding right from the word go but took 21 minutes to open the account through E Joykison who went on to hit a brace four minutes later to make it 2-0 in WAFA's favour till the break.
With GDC unable to improve themselves even after restart, WAFA continued to command the game and it was in the 74th minute that Seiminthang further extended the lead.
WAFA even did not spared the stoppage time opportunity as Th Rohit banged in the team's final goal in the second minute of the stoppage time.
The second match of the day however proved entertaining as LYCC brushed aside RAU by 4-3 goals in a nip and tuck contest.
RAU were 3-2 ahead till the break but LYCC made a swift comeback towards the end to overturn the lead and eventually snatch the next round berth.
SK Damme drew first blood in the 11th minute to hand LYCC a 1-0 lead but it was cancelled out two minutes later with Lamjingba finding the target for RAU.
SK Damme netted his second in the 24th minute to help LYCC retain the lead but RAU managed to draw level through N Jiten two minutes later before L Ronaldo made his effort in the 39th minute count to give RAU a 3-2 lead till half time.
After the restart, LYCC entered with more purpose and piled up pressure on RAU.
RAU did manage to soak up the pressure for a while before Diamas Chothe helped LYCC pull level in the 73rd minute.
LYCC sustained pressure against the Lairikyengbam side after the equaliser as well and off a fine run deep into RAU's defence line, Bedeenpar fired home the decisive goal in the 77th minute.
Later, NACO were awarded a walk over as SYC failed to submit their CRS details.
