Mr Eastern India Body Building Championship Manipur clinch overall champion title

Manipur clinched the overall champion title while Satyajit Pratihari of Odisha claimed the overall individual champion in the 6th Mr Eastern India Body Building Championship 2015 organised by All Manipur Gymnasium Welfare Association (AMGWA) under the aegis of Eastern India Body Building Association today at auditorium hall, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal.
Ng Surchandra of Manipur won 2nd position in the individual overall event.
Assam emerged the runners up team.
Altogether 80 bodybuilders form the different North Eastern States participated in the tournament in different weight categories.

In the 55 kg event, Dipu Dutta (Assam), L Neta (Manipur) and Subhadip Ghosh (Manipur) clinched the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position titles respectively.
In the 60 kg event, Sh Kanta (Manipur), L Robert Meitei (Manipur) and Suvadeep Baidya (Assam) respectively claimed the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position titles.
In the 65 kg event, N Robindro Singh (Manipur), Kh Hemanta and KW Tamnangthing (Manipur) won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
In the 70 kg event, L Rishikanta Singh (Manipur), Arnold Fudge (Manipur) and W Kiran (Manipur) respectively won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.
Nisho Konia (Arunachal Pradesh), Raj Thakuri (Arunachal Pradesh) and Shabhaz Ali (West Bengal) clinched the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the 75 kg event.
Ng Surchand (Manipur), M Robi Meitei (Assam) and Monoranjan Singh (Manipur) won the 1st, 2nd and third place respectively in the 80 kg category.
In the 80 kg and above event, Satyajit Pratihari (Odisha), Shubendu Karmakar (West Bengal) and Balaphrang Kharshiing (Meghalaya) clinched the 1st, 2nd and third place.
In the masters event, Balaphrang Kharshiing (Meghalaya) clinched the winner's title while K Dineshchandra (Manipur) and L Kumarjit Meitei (Manipur) won the runners up and third place title respectively.
Works and Transport Minister Dr Kh Ratan Singh and AMGWA president N Ratan Singh attended the championship as chief guest and president respectively.
Parliamentary Secreatry YAS and Tourism M Prithiviraj, Wangjing A/C MLA P Brojen, ADGP Manipur IPS P Dongel, Director YAS N Ashokumar Singh, PWD Chief Engineer M Lokendro Singh, Babina Diagnostic Centre Managing Director Dr Th Dabali Singh and MSRRDA Chief Engineer N Babuchand Singh also attended as guests of honour.
Overall champion Satyajit Pratihari of Odisha was awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and masters champion Balaphrang Kharshiing of Meghalaya was given a cash prize of Rs 10,000 .
The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and fourth place winners of different weight categiroes were awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000, 3000, 2000 and 1000 each respectively.
