Ukhrul, January 05 2015:
The latest Tangkhul audio visual album Imra, a joint project of various Tangkhul artistes has a rich collection of songs that tells about humanity and observes the ideals of platonic love, reports Munghcan Zimik.
A motley crew of Tangkhul artistes comprising Theithei Luithui and various crooning talents have lent their voice to the collection of the album Imra - which contains eight songs.
The popular local crooner Theithei Luithui said "The project is a work of various artistes having keen interest in music at home.
This album is a combination of songs that talks of life at large" .
The audio-visual project was edited at Digisonic studio with pictures shot by Joy Wren Raleng and Tamsing.
This album features young singing talents Phungyo Voice Hunt 2013 winner Sorin AS, Tangkhul Idol 2013 first runners up Thotsemphi Luithui, Mayongchon Rungsung, SANSA Idol first runners up Shanringla Zingkhai and H Shimrah, a song writer and performer.
On the question of songs in the album and humanity, Theithei said "Chingrihaosa" speaks strongly against violence, bloodshed, war and so on, while the song "Oh Amei" is all about a young girl's infatuation with a man much older than her.
A song ''Ngashan" celebrates the rich culture and tradition of the Tangkhuls.
Theithei Luithui, who is locally known as 'Joan Baez' among the Nagas' singing circle, said that the project is a maiden work of a few artistes and added that more are in the pipeline.
