Silver medallist Sushila feted

L Sushila, who brought laurels to the State by winning a Silver medal in Judo in Commonwealth Games in Scotland was feted at a felicitation function organised by BJP Heingang Mandal yesterday.
Speaking at the function, L Sushila said that successful sportspersons would achieve greater heights if the State Government provides employment to them within the State.
It would not only have the opportunity to make the State proud rather it would also enable them to coach and guide the upcoming sportspersons in international competitions, she said.
Sushila asserted that the State Government's failure to nurture the talents of the sportspersons play a big role in the lives of many unfortunate sportspersons who did not get the opportunity to show their talents and take part in various international competitions.
Addressing the gathering, she also said that many State players are now representing others States which have given employment to them.
Sushila stated that though she has not been approached by the State Government with a job, she has been offered employment in ITBP, CISF and CRPF.
BJP Heingang Mandal President S Liben asserted that Sushila has made not only the State proud but also the country.
He also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his initiative to set up a Sports University in the State and said that it will provide a bigger platform to sportspersons to excel in their respective field.
