Imphal, May 22 2012:
Ceasing engagement of 158 ANM staff, recruited for the implementation of various programmes under the National Rural Health Mission as well as non-revision of honorarium is likely to result in agitation by the distraught ANM employees.
speaking to a group of newspersons today, some ANM personnel informed that there is no relevant process for re-engaging ANM staff after their service was utilised for a year.
Further in sharp contrast to the guidelines that the amount of honorariums for the ANM, and laboratory and X-ray technicians should not be on par with each other, the ANM staff were provided the same honorarium amount, they said.
While the technicians work from the comfort of health centre offices, ANM personnel are normally posted to remote and far-flung areas where there are no doctors, they informed justifying their demand for revision of the honorarium.
