Imphal, December 16 2012:
Two engineers who were abducted on monetary demand by suspected cadres of UTLA (SK Thadou) on November 6 last were released last night.
The engineers are engaged in the construction of Jiri-Tupul railway line, said a source.
The two engineers Amrit Gogoi (28) of Jorhat and Manoranjan Hazare (24) of Dribugarh were abducted by suspected cadres of UTLA (SK Thadou) on monetary demand of Rs 2 crore at around 10.30 am on November 6 last from Kaimai.
However, both the engineers were released at Kaimai last night, added the source.
