Fire damages transformer

Imphal, June 22 2014:
A 10 MV electric transformer was damaged in a fire that broke out at 33/11 Power Sub Station cum Control Room, Lamphel, under Lamphel Police Station today at around 2.20 pm.
However, timely arrival of State Fire Service prevented the fire from further damaging the Sub Station.
Electric short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire.
It is said that the break down of the transformer will affect power supply to RIMS, Lamphel Officer's Colony, Uripok RIMS Road and Sanakeithel areas.
