Imphal, July 12 2010:
Two drug traffickers, mother and daughter, arrested with 4 kg of drug by 22 Assam Rifles posted at Maram on July 8, were sent to jail after producing them in a local court today.
The two alleged drug traffickers identified as Thimboi Kuki (40) wife of late Lalboy and her daughter Namboy (20) of Motbung in Senapati district were nabbed with 4 kg of opium in a Tata Sumo through ImphalMao route at Maram by 22 Assam Rifles at Maram on last July 8, at 6.40 pm evening.
The report said the opium, worth around rupees three lakhs were transporting by them from Siakul to Dimapur.
AR handed them to Mao Police Station along with the seized items.
Mao Police after registering a case, under police remand kept them under their custody 4 days and they were produced in Special Judge NDCS Act Manipur Court and court sent them to
Imphal Central Jail today.
