Tamenglong, July 12 2010: Numbers of works taken up under Backward Regions Fund Grant, BRGF in Tamenglong district are said to have good progress 95 percent work orders have submit back the completion reports of the 1st phase while some unable to complete the works.

The 1st phase works orders were issued last year March 2009 with amount of Rs.11.25 crores in the district.

BRGF works include construction of community hall, construction of inter village road, suspension bridge, waiting shed, toilet complex and construction of guest house at various places in Tamenglong district since March this year in the 1st phase.

Most of the works were executed by Village Development Committee, VDC.

Some of the works are unable to complete and found under construction in some villages.

However, a highly place source said that 95 percents of the works orders had drawn the final bills.

On the Sub Divisional Officers inspection the final bills were allow to drawn, the source said.

In the meantime a highly place source said that 2nd phases of BRGF fund was release in the month of April this year amounting Rs.75 crores of the total allocation for the whole district.

The source disclosed that in Tamenglong block alone as many as 19 community halls construction are going on in different villages, construction of six Inter Village Roads and other connectivity, eleven three suspension/ light bridges, five waiting shed, three toilets complex, two Minor Irrigations dams, one each of market shed, computer training centre, water tank, guest house, demonstration farm for Medicinal plants, beautification of caves, and works' shed.

In Nungba and Khoupum block as many as 12 community halls construction are going on in different villages, eleven roads connectivity, one suspension bridge, four waiting sheds, two toilets complex, three Minor Irrigation dams, three village Authority offices, one each of guest house and Coaching Centre constructions are taken up, the source said.

In Tamei subdivision construction of thirteen community halls, five connectivity of roads, four suspension/ light bridges, four market shed, one each of waiting shed, and grain godown are taken up in the subDivision.

The source also disclosed that in Tousem subdivision as many as sixteen community halls construction are going on in different villages, four suspension bridges, one toilet complex, three waiting sheds, nine connectivity, one each of toilets complex and guest house are taken up in the blocks.

For all these works the district administration had sanction running bills to Village Development Committee, VDC to execute the works so that the local men may works for themselves, the source added.
