Imphal, May 08:
Lamkang Students Union has categorically stated that it would never accept imposition and implementation of Meetei Mayek in the hill area especially Naga inhabited area.
In a statement, president of the students body Daniel Leivon Lamkang asserted people in the hills have been using Roman scripts and not Meetei Mayek from the very beginning.
As such, the decision to impose in the hill area would be detrimental to the peaceful co-existence between the hill and the valley people, he said.
The students body also condemned the burning down of State central Library by Mayek activists.
