Thadou Students Association while appealing to the Senapati Dist DC for providing relief measures to the landslide victims of Keithelmanbi Gopibung and Persian has warned of imposing an economic blockade on the NH 39 from July 27 if the Govt fails to comply to the demand of the Association.
Mention may be made here that Keithelmanbi area was hit by a massive mudslide two weeks back resulting in a large scale destruction of paddy fields, residential building, schools etc.
Meanwhile the Association has also strongly condemned the brutal killing of Manorama and Pastor Jamkholet Khongsai by personnel of Assam Rifles and termed it as barbaric and inhuman.
It also appealed to the State Govt to lift the Armed Forces Special Powers Act from the State immediately and help the people to live peacefully without any fear.
Expressing deep concern over the large scale destruction caused by the mudslide and landslides at Keithelmanibi and Mao Phikomei village, Poumai Masou Me has appealed to the authorities concerned to look into the matter and provide relief measures to the affected villagers immediately.
