Hectic efforts are on to clear the massive landslides on NH-39 with Moa AC MLA RK Theko leading a six member MLA team to oversee the relief work and to extend aid to the affected people today.
Significantly, the wife of 3 Corp Commander, Mrs Daljeet has also extended relief material to the affected people.
Apart from RK Theko the MLA team included Dr Amo, Manga Vaiphei, A Aza, Bijoy Koijam, and Korungthang.
The MLAs over saw the work being taken up to clear the landslides and handed over Rs 50,000 to the Phikomai Relief Committee.
Though MLA K Ranjit did not visit the affected area he contributed to the financial aid.
The representatives also urged the BRTF to put their best foot forward and ensure vehicular movement along the highway.
The MLAs expressed optimism that heavy vehicles would be able pass through the highway within 4/5 days time.
Light vehicles can now pass through.
The relief material extended by Mrs Daljeet to the affected people included, 14 bags of rice, 14 bags of flour, 3.5 bags of lentils, 3.5 bags of sugar, and 7 tins of refined cooking oil.
The MLA team informed the villagers that they had come as representatives of the Govt and under instructions from the CM.
