Rice-laden truck goes missing

Imphal, February 10, 2012:
A truck loaded with 190 bags of rice could not be traced after it was last seen parked near the Sangaiprou godown of Food Corporation of India last night.
According to a source, the truck (NL06A/3257) engaged in transportation of rice by FCI contractor M/s Zhimomi Traders was parked near the said godown and is suspected to left the site in the early hours today.
As whereabouts of the driver too remains unknown it is being speculated that the driver might have driven off the vehicle.
Value of the rice load is estimated to be Rs 95,000 while the truck's price is put at Rs 8 lakhs.
Owner of the vehicle has lodged a complaint at Lamphel police station.
