Ranjan Yumnam, Director CAF & PD has informed that the Central Government has amended rule 9A of the Consumer Protection rules to change the fee structure for filing cases in the District Fora.
As per the Consumer Protection (22nd amendment) Rules, 2018, there will be no fees for filing cases upto Rs 5 lakh, Rs 200 will be charged for filing cases between Rs 5-10 lakh and Rs 400 will be charged for filing cases between Rs 10-20 lakh, it added.
