Imphal, July 27 2009:
Under the Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission Project, Rural Women and Children Development Welfare Association, Taobungkhok organised a health camp for expecting mothers at Juvenile Club, Tera Sapam Leirak here today.
The health camp was organised in with the help of Health activists (ASHAs) and Anganwadi workers.
Association secretary AK Mirabai explained that the main motive behind organising the health camp is to identity pregnant mothers and ensure HIV testing so as to prevent transmis sion of HIV from mother to child as well as to provide counselling to the HIV positive expecting mothers and nutritional supports to children of such mothers.
