Imphal, October 26:
Cutting of timber/firewood and poaching of wildlife in and around Iroishemba range of langol Hills and adjoining plains would be prohibited under relevant clauses of Forest Act 1972 within immediate effect, said People's Progressive Assn, Iroishemba in a release.
Warning that those found violating the declaration are liable to face imprisonment or fined Rs 10,000, the Association also announced clamping ban on picnic/merriment activities with the exception on New Year's eve or on New Year.
