The Bir Tikendrajit Flyover bridge being constructed by NBCC as the work agency with MAHUD Department as nodal agency since 2003 is set to complete by November 14.
The deadline was set to enable the AICC president Sonia Gandhi inaugurate the flyover during her forthcoming visit to the State.
Moreover, the State Government has initiated process to erect gates at Jiribam, Mao, Moreh and Tipaimukh similar to the one constructed at the entrance of BT Park by PDA recently.

Requisite amount has been sanctioned for the proposed gate at Jiribam, informed a source.
Talking with The Sangai Express, Deputy General Manager of National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) SK Mittal informed that NBCC has been working hard to complete the BT flyover by November 14 adding that the total cost of the flyover would be Rs 2493 lakhs.
He mentioned that many trucks laden with construction material brought from Kolkata and bitumen have been stranded due to the ongoing economic blockade on National Highways.
The officer disclosed that road development work on both sides of the flyover entrusted to NBCC as bonus has been delayed due to non-arrival of bitumen.
Saying that the remaining work of the flyover would not take much time, the Deputy General Manager assured that the bridge would certainly be completed within the month of November even if circumstances compel it to delay the ongoing work for a few days.
Mittal informed that the agency has taken up construction of New Market and Lakshmi Market in Khwairamband Bazar in full swing.
The officer further disclosed that the agency has been enduring numerous problems in the construction of the market complexes.
It may be recalled here that because of pressures exerted from several quarters, the construction work of the BT Flyover was halted at intervals and at times the NBCC officials were forced to flee the work site.
According to an official source, the State Government has decided to complete the flyover bridge in time for inauguration by AICC president Sonia Gandhi during her visit to the State even though the exact date of Sonia Gandhi's visit has not been fixed as yet.
The official mentioned that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh would visit the State next month even though the exact date has not been confirmed as of now.
A visit to the work site by this reporter found that street lamp poles have been erected alongside the flyover and railing work was also found completed except for some parts on the Uripok side.
It is said that the BT Flyover bridge would be a landmark achievement of the SPF Government if it can be completed by the new deadline set.
