Imphal, January 06 2011:
While expressing gratitude to the state and Central Governments for lifting of the Protected Area Permit from the state for a term of one year, the Federation of Regional Indigenous Societies (FREINDS), has urged the Central government to permanently remove the PAP from the state.
A press release of the federation stated that the people of the state will never mistreat foreigners or tourists who visit the state.
It also cautioned the people to be vigilant against the possibility of invasion by outsiders.
Removal of PAP may prove to be counter productive if the Inner Line Permit System is not exercised in the state, added the release.
