Imphal, February 23, 2010:
Assam Rifles has extended assistance to a victim of wild bear attack.
According to a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles, on February 19, Thangminlal s/o Lenthinthang (19) of Sajik Tampak village was reported to one COB of 8 Assam Rifles with multiple bite injuries by a wild bear.
The individual had gone for hunting in jungles where he was caught by the bear.
With great difficulty, he managed to escape and reach the COB of 8 Assam Rifles in night.
The individual was immediately referred to the unit hospital at Sajik Tampak and attended to by the unit RMO.
The patient's health is regularly being monitored by the RMO and other medical staff in 8 Assam Rifles Unit Hospital.
