Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles Brig Gajendra Prasad, VSM interacted with the village pradhans of Sawombung during his visit to Sawombung COB (Chingarel) of 39 Assam Rifles today.
The Commander also gifted sports items for the local football clubs.
He encouraged the Pradhans to motivate the youth to channelise their energy in sports and carry forward the sporting culture of Manipur at the highest International level.
At the occasion, 39 Assam Rifles also conducted a free health check up camp at Leishemba Maheikol School at Kangla Chingarel village.
A total of 310 students were examined during the camp.
In another occasion, 23 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector organised a medical camp under Op Sadbhavana at Nungdam Kuki village on February 21. Two Medical Officers including a Lady doctor and paramedical staff attended the patients.
More then 350 patients from Nungdam Kuki and nearby villages were given free medical examination and treatment.
The villagers were also educated on hygiene and sanitation.
