Seven shops gutted

Imphal, May 17 2016:
As many as seven shops were gutted in fire at
Khangabok bazar yesterday at around 11.30
pm, our correspondent reports.
A short circuit in one of the shops is
believed to have sparked the fire.
According
to sources, properties worth about Rs 80
lakh were destroyed in the fire.
Four or the seven shops belonged to
Khundrakpam Bibison (62) of Khangabok
bazar and the remaining three to Laishram
Purnam.
The district fire office helped by locals
doused the fire after half an hour.
However,
majority of the properties amounting to
about Rs 80 lakh were destroyed in the fire,
a shop owner told this correspondent.
