Kakching, February 10, 2010:
The traffic on the Indo-Myanmar section of the NH-39 was disturbed for around two and half hours today when an object suspected to be a bomb was found planted on the roadside at a place between Patpal Lamkhai and Slopeland Public School.
Troops of 15 Assam Rifles posted at Kheba Ching while on ROP duty found the suspicious object at about 6.50 am, police said.
The object had two orange colour wires wrapped in plastic casing connected to it.
It was about one and half feet long and about 6 inches in diameter.
Later, when reporters saw the object, they said that it could be the joining point of optical fibre lines of telephone.
An employee of BSNL was summoned, and he confirmed it as the joining point of optical fibre lines of telephone.
Normal traffic was resumed after 9 .30 am.
