Imphal, February 09 2009:
The Manipur University Tribal Students' Union (MUTSU) in a press statement said that the "Special Drive" for Scheduled Tribe candidates is considered unjustified as the Manipur University authority is conducting direct recruit for teaching faculty posts in various departments while the scheduled tribe reservation issue in MU is not yet over.
However, MUTSU urged the University authority the selection of teaching faculty members should be free from corruption particularly for the posts in Scheduled Tribe "Special Drive" category.
MUTSU also alerted the university authority to conduct the selection based on merit of the candidates in interest of the University and the people of the state.
