Panaji, February 13 2012:
In Goa, today is the last day for filing of nominations for the State assembly polls slated on the 3rd of next month.
The filing of nominations will close this evening.
So far over one hundred and fifty candidates have filed nomination papers.
Scrutiny of the nominations will be done tomorrow.
In the forty member state assembly Congress is contesting thirty three seats while the BJP is contesting thirty one seats.
Trinamool Congress is also contesting Goa elections for the first time.
All India minorities Front is also in the fray.
Prominent amongst those who have filed their nominations include Speaker of Goa assembly Mr.Pratapsingh Rane, Chief Minister Mr.Digambar Kamat, Home Minister Ravi Naik, PWD Minister Churchill Alemao, Urban Development Minister Joaquim Alemao, Deputy Speaker Mauvin Gudinho, Opposition leader and former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parriker, Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane and others.
