AR Organises Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Meet in Chandel

Chandel Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised an ex-servicemen meet at Chandel on Yesterday.
A total of 115 ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, war widows and dependants of Assam Rifles and Army personnel attended the meet.
The Commandant highlighted that ex-servicemen of Assam Rifles and Army continue to be an important constituent of the society and have a very big potential to make positive contribution towards nation building.
He emphasised that the ex-servicemen are disciplined and well trained work force with rich experience in aid to civil authority and disaster management.
He urged them to contribute positively in societal upliftment and other nation building activities.
The Commandant assured that Assam Rifles and Chandel Battalion will continue to redress the grievances of veterans, Veer Naris and ex-servicemen's.Subsequently, issues related to pension, health care, re-employment and other grievances were addressed during the meet.
A medical camp was also organized along with the meet.
Medical checkup of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependants was conducted by Assam Rifles Medical Officer, Chandel Battalion.
The ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and dependants extended their heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for taking good care of the ex-servicemen fraternity.
