Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a interactive lecture on anti-tobacco day at Comet School, Ghari on Yesterday.
To emphasise health and other risks associated with tobacco use and advocating effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption, an interactive lecture on anti tobacco day was organised by Tulhial Company Operating Base (COB) at Comet School, Ghari.
The interactive lecture was conducted to generate awareness about the ill effects of tobacco among the youth and to guide them to lead a healthy and prosperous life.
The lecture gave the audience an insight about harmful effects of tobacco usage on the human body.
The students were also educated about cardiovascular diseases (CVD), including strokes, which combined are the world's leading causes of death and feasible actions and measures that one can take to reduce the risks to heart health posed by tobacco.
The interactive lecture witnessed energetic participation by over 80 students and teachers of the school.
The campaign was a success in educating the students on this sensitive issue and various measures to counter the menace.
The school faculty and students found the lecture on anti-tobacco day very educating and helpful.
They appreciated the earnest endeavor of Assam Rifles and requested them to conduct such events in future as well.
