Observation committee set up for June 18

An observation committee has been constituted for this year's The Great June Uprising Unity Day (June 18) .
UCM president Elangbam Johnson is the chairman of the committee while AMUCO president Dr Y Mani Khuman is the vice-chairman.
AMUCO secretary general T Gandhi and UCM secretary general YK Dhiren are the co-convenors of the committee.
Speaking to media persons at the Kwakeithel office of AMUCO this evening, UCM president Elangbam Johnson said that they have their doors wide open for dialogues with all communities and civil society organisations.
Quoting a news report published in a Nagaland based newspaper, Johnson remarked that the idea of forming a pan-Naga cultural body is a very serious matter.
Government of India's interlocutor RN Ravi has been informed twice that the territory of Manipur would not be compromised under any circumstances.
He said that both AMUCO and UCM have their doors wide open for holding unconditional dialogues with all communities and CSOs of the State.
T Gandhi appealed to all the people to donate in cash or kind to the observation committee for successful observation of the comme- morative function.
Kekrupat memorial complex could not be developed properly as it is under the Kangla Fort Board.
Nonetheless, volunteers of KT and MS Alumni, Khurai Konsam Leikai cleaned the complex today, said YK Dhiren.
