Snake bite victim saved

The medical team of 41 Assam Rifles of 10
Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) saved
the life of a snake bite victim on May 26.
The victim namely Jolly (54) of Khamasom Khullen in
Ukhrul district was bitten by a venomous snake while work-
ing in the field, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR
(S).
She was brought to the unit hospital of 41 Assam Rifles
in a critical condition with acute pain and swelling of the right
hand.
She was readily attended by the medical team led by
Medical Officer and necessary first aid and anti-snake venom
injections were administered.
Timely administration of life saving anti-venom and sup-
portive treatment averted an impending life threatening
situation, added the press release.
