Imphal, August 28 2015 :
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has said that the time has come to collectively press the Centre regarding ILPS implementation as the State Legislative Assembly is now set to pass the new ILPS Bill on August 31.In a statement, the students' body said that the Government was compelled to introduce the new Bills due to sustained mass agitation of the people.
However, there is still a long way to go for the final implementation of the Bill.
As such, DESAM is now ready to exert more intense pressure to the Centre with the support from the masses and like minded organisations regarding the matter, the statement said.
Now, the State Government must take up appropriate steps to pave way for performing last rites of Sapam Robinhood by taking action against his killers.
The Government must also put in effort for early commencement of classes in educational institutes, the statement said.
