Imphal, August 28 2015 :
Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) on Friday appealed all the elected tribal representatives from the hill districts to be "cautious" of any Bills introduced in the Manipur Legislative Assembly or in any platform which may affect the interest of the tribals in the State.
In a press note, ZYF president Titus Kamei stated that tribal representatives in the Manipur Legislative Assembly who are the members of the "Hills Areas Committee" will be held responsible if any Bill contrary to the wishes of the people is passed in the Assembly.
The ZYF president said "unresponsiveness nature" of the tribal representatives should not be the factor in reducing the "entire tribal people as insensitive people." He said any move or decision if taken in their presence which may affect the tribal people's Constitutional rights, sentiments and interest will not be acceptable but strongly opposed.
Time has come particularly for the tribal representatives and the tribal populace in general to exercise their wisdom in order to save the future of the tribal people, ZYF president stressed.
He said the best way for the tribal people's representatives to protect and safeguard their rights and interests is to express their "opinions and views loud and in clear terms" .
