In a first of its kind in Manipur, the Slopeland Public School located at Salt Village in Khongjom, Thoubal district has established digital classrooms from nursery to class XII standard.
Speaking to newspersons at the School's conference hall today, Slopeland Principal N Babulin said her students now have the facility to learn in a more convenient and interesting way as almost the entire subjects in enlarged format are displayed on screen.
Informing that over 1200 students of the school, that adopts CBSE-prescribed syllabus, have been provided the latest method learning under the guidance since the past three months, the Principal said digital equipment being utilised in the School have been procured from Hyderabad-based TEACH NEXT company.
Further stating that the classrooms have been transformed/renovated to be compatible with the digital system of education at a cost of Rs 38 lakhs payable in a five-year instalment basis, Babulin said experts from the Hyderabad firm are providing relevant training to the teaching faculties.
The Principal also confided as keeping the digital system functional necessitates regular power supply some additional amount is being levied from the students, and hastened to clarify that the additional fee would be nominal once regular power supply could be ensured by the Government.
