AR's rebuttal to RPF claim

Imphal, November 07 2012:
Refuting the charges made by proscribed UG group, Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) that Hijam Babu, whose body was recovered from near Lunghar village on November 5 had been arrested by a combined team of Imphal East Commandos and 28 Assam Rifles on November 2 from Andro Kharam Leikai and later killed in a fake encounter, PRO Assam Rifles as asserted that contrary to the charges, 28 Assam Rifles has been trying hard with the locals to tract the whereabouts of the individual ever since he
was reported missing.
The PRO further asserted that it has been learnt that Hijam Babu was a RPF/PLA cadre for 15 years but seeing the low morale of the UG cadres returned home about 7 months back and was planning to get married soon.
He had communicated to his near and dear ones his wish to surrender to security forces and come to mainstream to lead a normal life.
He had also expressed his fear of getting killed by his own banned UG group as he was planning to leave the group and lead a normal life, the PRO maintained.
