Bangla Judge visits Khuga Dam

An acting judge of Bangladesh Supreme Court, Justice Bhabani Prasad Singha today visited the controversy ridden Khuga Dam as a part of his tour to the state that began late last week.
The visit by a sitting judge of the neighbouring country that was understood to have raised reservations about the Government of India's proposal to construct Tipaimukh dam is believed to have some ramification but the visiting dignitary has denied the contention.
Local reporters seeking an audience with Justice Singha were told that his visit was unofficial.
That despite his regards for the Press he is in no capacity to make any comments.
Being a Manipuri himself, he had just wished to visit the State at least once and he is coming in that capacity, the judge is being quoted as saying.
Justice Singha will leave for Bangladesh tomorrow said an accompanying official.
HPF-M CCpur committee formed.
The Hill Peoples' Forum Manipur has today appointed seven-member committee to oversee its activities in Churachandpur district committee at Zomi Council administrative office here.
The appointed members were Lalrothang, John Benedic, Vungsuanthang, MC Chinminthang, Th.Kamminthang Vaiphei, H.Pauzalal and TK Hang.
They were said to have picked by the office bearers amongst themselves.
Meanwhile, the organizing committee of the 3th World Zomi Convention has today launched an information centre at Digi Info-tech, New Lamka to manage and coordinate activities and information relating to the convention.
Chairman of Zomi Council, LB Sona formally inaugurated the centre in the presence of other tribes leaders.
