Imphal, June 26:
Taking serious note of the observation of some sections of the people that answer keys provided against one question each in Physics and Chemistry papers of the MBBS/BDS Entrance Examination 2007 were wrong, the DESAM has demanded that a new merit list should be published.
A statement issued by DESAM also demanded a definite stand of the Medical Department on the controversy regarding the two wrong answer keys.
The student body also flayed the silence of the chairman and other members of the Examination Board even as answer keys to two questions carrying a total mark of 8 are reportedly wrong.
It urged upon the Commissioner, Secretary of the Medical Directorate and the State Government to fix responsibilities for the controversy and to take up befitting actions against those responsible for it.
DESAM pointed out that the answer keys to question no 25 of Physics paper series code B and question no 31 of Chemistry paper series code A given by the Examination Board are wrong.
It disclosed that 10 candidates were 4 marks short of the cut off mark for this MBBS/BDS entrance exam (360 marks) while 8 candidates were 8 marks short of the cut off mark.
Demanding a valid clarification from the Medical Directorate within 5 days, it warned that DESAM will take recourse to its own course of action in accordance to the wish of the people.
