Imphal, August 18 2011:
The CMO of Senapati Dr Simpson Sareo has urged the SHDDC for free passage of the Government ambulance on humanitarian ground.
While talking to The Sangai Express, Dr Simpson Saero stated that due to the general strike called by the SHDDC on NH 39, scores of patients including some seriously ill persons could not avail medical assistance which is unfortunate.
Recently some of the patients had been allowed to go to Imphal with the ambulance for further medical assistance.
However, the same vehicle (ambulance) was not allowed to go back to Senapati owing to intensification of the strike and this prohibition might have a serious impact for the patients.
"So, I appeal the SHDDC to let the ambulance ply freely on humanitarian ground", the CMO urged.
The Chairman of the Senapati ADC has also urged the SHDDC to call off the stir on humanitarian ground while iterating that any decision to create Sadar hills district should be acceptable to all, based on Naga historical accounts.
