With Asian Development Bank (ADB) expressing its willingness to fund many development projects in Imphal, a workshop on Imphal City Development Project was conducted at the State Guest House here today.
According to a reliable source, Imphal is among the four cities selected by the Asian Development Bank under its North Eastern Urban Development Project (NEUDP) Phase-II.
The other cities are Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Itanagar.
The projects to be taken up by the ADB will not clash with the project of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewable Mission and the funding pattern for the implementation of said projects would be 90 percent grant by the Bank and the remaining 10 percent would be met by the States concerned.
In connection with implementation of these projects, a workshop attended by officials of by ADB, MAHUD, Town Planning, PWD, PHED, IFCD, Environment and Ecology and Pollution Control Board was held at State Guest House today.
The workshop was chaired by MAHUD secretary PK Singh.
