Imphal, February 08 2010:
The Military Affairs Committee (MAC) of the proscribed United Liberation Front, UNLF has in a statement, extended revolutionary greetings to the people on the 23rd anniversary of the renaming of the armed wing of UNLF as Manipur People's Army, MPA, which falls on February 9.On this occasion, the UNLF, MAC also extended revolutionary salute to the leaders and cadres of all the revolutionary groups of Manipur and the region.
In the last 23 years the MPA has emerged as one of the most powerful armed groups operating in Manipur and has been able to wage a very intense liberation movement against the security forces, said the statement.
MAC gives the credit for this achievement to the people.
Because of the love and trust bestowed on UNLF/MPA, it has the self belief to face not only the Indian security forces but even the most powerful force on earth.
The MAC also gave credit to the support extended by friends and well wishers from all across the globe.
Stating that inspite of this, it is not possible for any revolution group to give momentum to this liberation movement on its own, the UNLF, MAC stressed the need for all the revolutionary groups in Manipur to go hand in hand, especially in terms of waging war against the security forces unitedly.
But there has been much progress towards this direction and if this continues, the revolutionary groups will start losing their revolutionary ethics and the movement will suffer, said the statement.
Considering all this, the UNLF, MAC renewed its call to other revolutionary groups for waging war against the security forces as one, as this will not only put the revolutionary groups in an advantageous position but will also renew trust in the united strength of the groups among the people.
To build up the united strength of it is essential that all should sit together to deliberate on the mistakes and correct those, the UNLF on its part is willing to do the needful, said the statement.
Continuing, the statement stated that there has been a recent trend of raping and brutally murdering women in Manipur.
This trend was started by the security forces and while the UNLF has awarded capital punishment to many who had raped and murdered women, none of the security personnel involved in such crime have been awarded any significant punishment by the government of India, claimed the statement.
Over and above these, the rape and brutal murder of the mother-daughter duo is something which is happening for the first time in Manipur and should not be taken lightly, said the statement.
Following this another young girl was raped in killed.
All these incidents are a symptom of the degeneration of our society, continued the statement.
The revolutionary groups who have pledged to bring about an egalitarian society should not remain spectators to such crimes, rather it is the bounden duty of all revolutionary groups to award fitting punishment to all those involed in such heinous crimes, put forward the UNLF, MAC.
It is a natural corollary that all the state police force and all those who are helping the Indian state are the enemies of the revolution but as per a definite policy of UNLF, it does not regard all those who are employees of the state and all son of the soil who are in the state police force as enemies is amply clear to everybody, stated the statement.
