Imphal, February 08 2010:
Strongly reacting to the speech of the Chief Minister, O Ibobi in the recently held Chief Ministers' Conference at Vigyan Bhavan, wherein he stated that the insurgent groups in the state are earning massive income from smuggling of drugs like Heroin and that the fund is being utilized to buy sophisticated arms and put up the leaders in foreign countries and many of its cadres within India, the proscribed Revolutionary People's Front, RPF, in a press release signed by GM Changjou, Department of Publicity, stated that it is an attempt to show the national liberation movement going on in Manipur in a false light.
Stating that there had been many occasions when uniformed personnel and even politicians were caught with contraband items and had the chief minister talked about them, he would have been much appreciated by those present in the conference, the RPF reminded that it is the revolutionary groups and meira paibis who have been responsible for saving scores of youth from the abyss of drug abuse.
Asserting that the chief minister's utterances are an open challenge to the people of Manipur, the release reminded that the RPF had banned the Indian Manufactured Foreign Liquor in 1991 and it was only then that government of Manipur declared total prohibition in Manipur.
It also reminded that the RPF had already resolved to award capital punishment to anyone found with 50 grams of Herion.
Stating that a revolutionary movement has its ups and down and it cannot be terminated at the whims and fancy of anyone, the political contradictions between two warring sides can only be resolved with the attainment of freedom of the people.
No extra judicial killings or talks with neighbouring countries will resolve the problem; the political solution of Manipur can only be brought about by the people of Manipur, said the release.
Stating that the repression under the government led by O Ibobi has reached intolerable limits, the release stated that even as the Khwairamban incident is fresh in the mind of the people, comes the brutal killings of the mother and daughter duo at Phayeng and the gruesome murder of a girl from Khurai.
"Over this many revolutionary who are in custody have been killed in fake encounter", and O Ibobi is solely responsible for all this, said the release.
The case of RK Sanajaoba of Bijoy Govind who was killed by the police is still left unclear.
In the light of all these, it can be safely assumed that the miscreants let loose by the government are responsible for every unsavoury incident which is taking place in Manipur, said the release.
Stating that incidents of extra judicial killings is the highest under the present government, the release said that in this conflict O.Ibobi is a major actor but he will never be regarded as a national hero and that all those ancestors who had given their life for Manipur will never forgive for the sins he had committed.
"Politicians like him are trying to project all those who made the supreme sacrifice to protect the freedom of Manipur as Indian National heroes who gave their life to protect the freedom of India", said the release.
On another matter, the release stated that the two persons who were killed in Langmeithel, Thoubal district is in no way related to RPF or its armed wing, PLA, as claimed by SP, Thoubal.
