One activist of the proscribed KCP (GS) involved in five different incidents of bomb attacks including one at the residence of MLA I Hemochandra has been apprehended by a combined security team.
The KCP activist is identified as Laishram Kiran alias Momo alias Anoppa (18) s/o Sobha of Singjamei Makha Naorem Leikai.
He was apprehended by a combined team of Imphal West commandos and troops of 23 AR from near Krishna Premi oil pump, Moirangkhom along with a gun of 7.62 calibre and four live rounds at about 8.55 am yesterday.
A press release issued by Imphal West SSP L Kailun informed that Kiran was involved in the grenade attack at the Chingamakha residence of MLA I Hemochandra on February 24 last year as well as in lobbing a grenade attack at the Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak residence of Minor Irrigation Division II EE M Nabakumar on June 28 last year.
Other violent activities perpetrated by the KCP activist included the grenade attacks at the counter of MM Gas located at RIMS Road on September 4 last year and Chingamakhong residence of IFCD Division II EE Chongtham Ranbir on September 13 .
Kiran was also involved in another grenade attack at the residence of PWD SE Th Tomba at Tera Sadokpam on September 19 .
Kiran alias Momo disclosed that he joined the KCP and committed the crimes under another KCP activist identified as Sorenshangbam Bungcha (30) s/o Nillo of Singjamei Naorem Leikai, Liwa Lambi, conveyed the SSP's release.
On the other hand, one self styled Imphal district commander of PULF (Umar Farooq) finance section has been apprehended by Thoubal police commandos from near Ngariyan hills along Imphal-Yairipok road at about 11.45 am today, informed SP Thoubal Clay Khongsai in a release.
The PULF cadre is identified as Md Jalaoruddin alias Sabir alias Anil (38) s/o Jamaruddin of Yairipok Changamdabi, it added.
An AR PRO release further informed that one KCP activist identified as Islauddin (19) s/o Nuruddin of Moreh Ward no 5 was nabbed by troops of 31 AR from Moreh on January 5 .
The UG cadre has been handed over to Kakching police station, added the release.
