CCpur records highest single-day Covid jab

CCpur, July 26 2021: Churachandpur achieved a milestone on Sunday, July 26, as the district vaccinated more than 5000 people against COVID-19 .

About 5268 people were administered the first dose of the Covid jab while 414 people received their final inoculation, taking the total number of people that took the jab during the massive drive overseen by the district administration to 5682.The special vaccination drive was carried out in 32 session sites across 7 sub-divisions.

The Additional DC Churachandpur, S Khaikhopau Ngaihte who personally oversaw the exercise said the average shot administered by each site was 157."The record single day jabs have taken the district's eligible inoculated population to 54.39 percent.

We have surpassed our previous best performance in Covid vaccination," Ngaihte said.

The previous best daily record of vaccinations was a little over 2000.As of July 26, the district has administered vaccines to 105710 people of which 89255 have received the first dose while the remaining 16455 have been administered with their second dose.

The Additional DC meanwhile maintained that another mass vaccination drive has been planned for tomorrow.

20 session sites have been identified by the district administration as it seeks to substantially ramp up the vaccination percentage before the State-wide lockdown ends.
