Medical examination of hostel proprietor Sagolsem Ranabir (30), who has been accused of repeatedly raping a minor girl inmate, has been conducted at the Department of Forensic Medicine of RIMS today.
During Ranabir's appearance before the Court, the investigating officer of the case pleaded with the Court for the medical examination.
After the medical examination, Ranabir was sent to Sajiwa central jail for the remaining days of his judicial remand granted by the Court under FIR case number 37 (7) 2015 of Imphal west women police station under Section 6 and 14 POCSO Act 2012 .
It may be mentioned that the alleged rape case came to light when the girl was rushed to PHC Mayang Imphal with the complaint of vomiting on July 11 .
It was detected at the PHC that the girl was three months pregnant.
Later, the girl told her mother that she had been repeatedly raped by Ranabir in the past few months.
The girl was staying in the hostel run by the accused at his mother's maternal home at Mayang Imphal Konchak.
Angry locals not only thrashed Ranabir badly but also dismantled the hostel before he was rescued by a team of Mayang Imphal police.
The case was handed over to Imphal West women police station the same day.
Medical examination of the girl had already been conducted at Department of Forensic Medicine of RIMS on July 13 .
