Thoubal, June 12 2017:
The Lamjingba Auto Owners' and Drivers' Association has urged the Thoubal District Transport office to allow permit renew for the mini transport services namely Diesel auto, Tata Irish, Tata Magic and Jeep drivers of Thoubal district.
A press release issued by the Association stated that the action has caused immense inconveniences to more than 3000 members of the total 100 associations operating in Thoubal.
It stated that the associations are contributing to the State Government's revenue by paying various taxes like registration fee, passenger tax, token tax, parking tax and added that there are always inconveniences with security personnel due to the lack of permit.
The association decried that the State Transport Department issues vehicle number every 15 years after payment of necessary taxes and further declines to issue permit.
On the other hand, the association appealed to OC of Kakching police station to lift the imposition on the members of the association barring them from operating, starting from Kakching to Sugnu area.
The association urged the authority concerned to allow the permits to be renewed and threatened to stop service and surrender all their vehicles to the Chief Minister if no positive response is given by the authority.
