Imphal, June 12 2017:
Tribal Rights Demand Committee, Jiribam, Kuki Students' Organisation, Jiri-Tamenglong Region, United Chief Committee, Jiribam and Hmar Students' Association State Coordination Committee and Joint Hqs Jiri-Vangai will soon launch a peaceful democratic protest to highlight the tribal's plight.
In a statement, the associations said that a charter of demands will be placed before Chief Minister N Biren for restoration of tribal rights in Jiribam district.
A joint representation of the tribal leaders of Jiribam was also submitted to the Chief Minister yesterday with the hope that the grievances of the tribals will be redressed.
