Shut-down diktat protested

Employees of Kangla Food Products, Nambol today staged sit-in-protest in front of its factory in denunciation of the armed outfit KCP-MTF proclaiming ban on the activities of the food production unit.
The protest session, held from 9 am till 3 in the evening was participated by over 150 people, which also included members/volunteers of Tiddim Road Unique Gamy Players' Union (Trugpu) .
speaking to newspersons on the sideline of the protest, some of the factory workers disclosed that an extortion notice of Rs 20 lakh was served against the factory by the KCP-MTF group.
As the demand was not obliged the armed outfit imposed ban on all activities of the factory since May 8, they informed.

Stating that about 70 of the workers are females with many of them sole bread winner of the family, they protest participants appealed to the armed group to lift the ban so as to ensure that the factor workers and their dependants do not suffer.
Placards denouncing the ban, threatening the factory owner and appeal to enable the workers resume economic activities without fear or inhibition were also put up at the protest venue.
